Online workshops

Croydon Healthy Homes, our energy advice service is running 2 free online workshops for Croydon residents on low incomes.  

Workshop 1

Heating, insulation and condensation
 
We will cover:

  • using energy in the home
  • heating systems and controls
  • why insulate?
  • grant funding available for home energy improvements (homeowners and private renters only)
  • identifying causes of damp and mould
  • managing condensation
  • energy tips

Energy tariffs and bill support

We will cover:

  • understanding your energy bills
  • types of energy tariffs and the price cap
  • current advice about finding the best tariff
  • managing your energy accounts
  • support available from energy companies
  • what to do if you are struggling to afford your energy bill
  • priority services register
  • water bill support
  • Croydon Healthy Homes – help we can provide

Face to face drop-in sessions for residents

You do not need to book in advance. If you want advice about high energy costs, please bring your latest energy bill or statement.

Free half-day energy awareness training for staff and volunteers

Croydon Healthy Homes

Croydon is running free training for people who work or volunteer with Croydon residents who could benefit from advice and support to manage their energy bills and energy use in their home. The training will include:

  • energy price rises and the price cap
  • current advice about energy tariffs
  • what is fuel poverty?
  • health impacts of living in a cold home
  • managing your energy account and support available from energy companies
  • using energy in your home
  • grant funding for home energy improvements
  • other energy savings advice
  • support with water bills

These sessions will include group discussions, Q and A sessions, and opportunities to discuss how Croydon Healthy Homes can help your clients.

Next session

The next session will take place in Central Croydon on Thursday 30 January 2025 between 2pm and 5pm.

Booking in advance is essential.
