Cycling
Cycling in Croydon, including cycle safety, training, parking and security, routes and clubs.
Overview
Croydon Council wants to make travel in the borough safer, more enjoyable and sustainable. We want to support residents to walk, cycle or use public transport more easily, to improve their health and the local environment for everybody. Improvements made so far include:
- new cycle routes (including protected cycle lanes, low-traffic routes and signage)
- safer roads (20mph limit on many local roads, improved road entries, roundabouts and junctions)
- free cycle skills training for everyone
- working together with TfL and other boroughs to create an integrated cycle network
- secure on-street cycle hangars for roads where residents are not able to keep their bike at home
The following pages tell you about buying a bike and kitting yourself out, cycle training courses, cycle parking and security, cycle routes and cycle clubs.
