Bulky waste collection

Find out how to arrange collection of large household items that cannot be reused or recycled.

About the bulky waste collection service

We can collect large and unwanted items that cannot be re-used, recycled or transported to our reuse and recycling centres.

Most retailers must provide a way for you to dispose of old household electrical and electronic equipment when you buy a new version of the same item. You must check with the retailer before you order a collection – find out more about retailer responsibilities on GOV.UK.

Collection of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs)

Items containing POPS such as sofas, armchairs, beanbags and cushions, must be collected separately from other waste.

Your collection date

If you have a mixture of bulky items containing POPs, they may be collected in 2 separate visits. The second visit will take place within 10 working days of your original collection date. For example, if your collection was booked for 1 January 2026, the remaining items will be collected sometime between 2 January and 11 January 2026.

Our crew will place a sticker on any items left behind to show they are due for a follow‑up collection. You don’t need to contact the council, our contractor will take care of it.

How much it costs

In line with other London boroughs we charge to collect bulky waste from homes.

The collection service operates all year round and costs:

  • £40.40 for 1 to 3 items
  • £65.30 for 4 to 6 items

We will only collect the items that you have booked and paid for. Do not place additional items next to the bulky waste as they will not be collected.
